UK Steel have revised and expanded our ‘Preparing for Brexit’ guidance document, first published at the end of last year. We have updated the information where possible/necessary and, crucially, expanded on the Brexit scenarios considered, moving from a simple ‘hard’ vs ‘soft’ Brexit to four possible scenarios:
- A Customs Union
- A Free Trade Agreement (FTA)
- Single Market Membership + an FTA
- No Deal Brexit
With the Brexit situation even more uncertain now than when we published last year, planning for member companies will of course be extremely difficult. While no guidance, however detailed, will be able to eliminate that uncertainty, we have done our best to provide a detailed mapping of the most likely scenarios as we see them and this will at least allow you to understand the implications of each of these to your business and help you best prepare.
