08.10.2020

The last six months have been tough for most businesses and the next six look equally uncertain. As we head towards winter, employers will be considering how best to move forward, including how to manage their employees who have been on furlough under the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) when that comes to an end on 31 October, and whether and how they can make use of the Government’s new Job Support Scheme (JSS).

Our HR and legal experts have prepared three new template letters to assist with this, based on the limited guidance that is available as at 8 October 2020:

  • JSS from full furlough template letter to move employees from full furlough onto JSS when the CJRS comes to an end (version 2.0 - updated to provide some further detail on JSS Pay)
  • JSS from flexible furlough template letter to move employees from flexible furlough onto JSS when the CJRS comes to an end (version 2.0 - updated to provide some further detail on JSS Pay)
  • JSS template letter to place employees who are not currently on furlough onto JSS

Please note, these template letters may be updated further once the Government publishes its full guidance on the JSS.

For more information about the JSS, see our news article ‘Job Support Scheme to follow on from furlough’ and our blog ‘Is the Job Support Scheme for you?
