Banksman and Yardshunter training
This one-day course teaches delegates about the safe passage of reversing vehicles in confined spaces.
It combines classroom-based learning with practical exercises to help delegates learn to identify on-site dangers. This course is aimed at yardsmen, yardshunters, banksmen, traffic controllers and depot supervisors. By completing this course, delegates will meet the legal requirements under the Health & Safety At Work Act and Workplace Transport Safety HSG 136. This course is run by an accredited instructor.
Course content
- Awareness presentation
- The mechanical principles of reversing
- Promoting site safety
- Identifying dangerous areas within a site
- Demonstration of HSE/RTITB recommended code of signals
- Reversing around obstacles
- Reversing 90º left and right
- Legal considerations.

Assessment
No assessment but delegates receive a certificate of attendance.
