Introduction to CNC Turning (Simulation & Application)
CNC Turning can now use complex programmes to control the machine to produce highly accurate parts in repetitive situations. Often these CNC Programmes are created in a separate department, from supplied drawings and are able to be created and tested prior to being downloaded to a specific machine. Additionally, this course also includes the practical setting up of tool libraries and datums on the CNC Turning machine to produce the required parts.
During the course, candidates will cover the following:
- Introduction to CNC simulation software
- Create simple drawings and forms in simulation
- Create machine code from simulation drawings
- Setting machining datums within simulation
- Create and edit complex tasks in simulation
- Set up machine datums and tool libraries on the CNC Turning machine
This Course is aimed at employees who are familiar with milling programming and are required to have a more in depth understanding of creating CNC programmes for automated machining and be able to set up the CNC Turning machine to perform the operations.
Whilst there is no formal assessment on this course, delegates will need to demonstrate a good working knowledge of the principles of CNC Simulation and be able to operate a CNC Turning machine safely. On successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.
This 5 day course enables the delegates to develop a better understanding and some skills in the use of simulation software to create the programmes necessary to upload to a machine to manufacture the parts required. Additionally, this course also includes the practical setting up of tool libraries, datums and other parameters to work round fixtures and clamps on the CNC Turning machine to produce the required parts.
