Introduction to wire eroder machine

Wire Eroder Machines use complex programmes to control the machine in order to produce highly accurate parts in repetitive situations. Often these CNC Programmes are created in a separate department but operators and setters still need to be able to create programmes from scratch or amend supplied programmes to ensure that the machine will produce the desired item. This three day introductory Wire Eroder training course is designed to give delegates the skills and knowledge they need to manage programmes, set and operate CNC Wire Eroder Machines effectively and safely.

  • Course content
  • The course runs over 3 days and covers 1 day of underpinning theory. The 2 days of practical elements will enable the delegates to manage programmes and set a CNC Wire Eroder Machine safely and effectively.

During the course the delegates will cover the following subject areas.

    • Introduction to programming to cover loading, editing and managing programmes

    • Machine maintenance and set up Linear movements

    • Circular movements

    • Work piece co-ordinate system

    • Datum setting

    • Test run

    • Single block

    • Run full sequence.

  • Pre-requisites
    • Delegates will need some experience of workshop manufacturing machinery and skills and practice in the use of manufacturing machines.

    • Assessment
    • Whilst there is no formal assessment on this course, delegates will need to demonstrate that they can operate a CNC Wire Eroder Machine safely and effectively. On successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.

    • More details
    • By completing this course, delegates will:

      • Demonstrate a better understanding of CNC Machining
      • Be able to maintain and set up a Wire Eroder machine
      • Be able to operate a Wire Eroder machine effectively and safely
