NEBOSH fire safety and risk management certificate
This qualification will give building owners and those responsible for managing or supervising fire safety, the basic knowledge required to conduct suitable and sufficient fire risk assessments. The course will also enable delegates to embed best practice, such as introducing fire prevention and protection measures and raising safety awareness among building users or workers.

Unit FC1 – Fire safety and risk management
Unit FC2 – Practical fire risk assessment
Development of a clear understanding of how to manage the risk of fire in the workplace:
- Fire legislation
- Components of fire
- Fire technology
- Building design
- Fire risk assessment
- Behaviour of people.
Unit NGC1 – management of health and safety. This five-day module is common to the NEBOSH national general certificate in health and safety and must be taken separately. It is beneficial for you to complete NGC1 before you start the fire safety modules and it must be completed within the last five years to gain the qualification.
Candidates are assessed with written examinations for FC1. For the FC2 module, candidates must carry out a fire risk assessment in a real workplace to demonstrate application of the theory studied.
