This one-day course will enable those who engage contractors to improve health and safety and avoid the pitfalls that may lead to accidents. It will provide valuable information and practical guidance for any manager, supervisor or other person responsible for devising policy or contractor procedures, or for the day-to-day control of a contractor’s activity.

This one day course on waste management is aimed at managers/supervisors who have responsibility for ensuring that the waste produced on site is managed in accordance with legal requirements, focusing on the duty of care of waste. This could range from ensuring that the duty of care is complied with to minimising waste production and segregating waste prior to recovery/recycling. It will also be of benefit to environmental practitioners who need a refresher.

This five-day introductory CNC training course is designed to give delegates the skills and knowledge they need to part-programme, set and operate CNC Milling Centres.

Though so many of today’s industrial manufacturing lines rely heavily on computer controlled electrical and electronic systems to operate, there is still a high need for basic machine tool skills to be able to carry out manufacturing processes effectively. These skills and knowledge also underpin the more advanced techniques used in operating and setting CNC type machines. This five-day Vertical Milling Machine training course gives delegates the skills and knowledge they need to safely operate a vertical milling machine to produce engineering products.

This four-day course splits between theory lessons and interlinked practical sessions introducing delegates to basic engineering and fitting techniques while at the same time learning the theory behind them.The course also introduces delegates to basic fault finding techniques, health and safety and control of substances hazardous to health regulations as well and an introduction to how maintenance organisations are organised and operated.The final day culminates with a practical assessment that brings many of the elements learned throughout the course together allowing both staff and students to see how much progress is made.

This four-day course at our Technology Hub, Birmingham provides delegates with a robust understanding of the IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations BS 7671:2018 and how this standard applies to electrical installations. It is aimed at electricians and allied professionals, such as surveyors, consultants and trades, who need to update and enhance their understanding of The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) wiring regulations. By completing the course, attendees will develop their skills and knowledge to the high national standard recognised by the electro-technical industry.

This one-day practical course covers the statutory requirements and identifies straightforward and practical ways to carry out Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) assessments and implement control measures. It is aimed at individuals who are involved in the management of hazardous substances in the workplace. This could include supervisors and line managers with operational responsibility safety, or those developing their health and safety career.

This is a one-day introductory reading engineering drawings course is aimed at those who are required to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings as part of their manufacturing role. By learning how to read engineering drawings and interpret them, delegates will be better able to understand the specific requirements of a project and feed these back to the organisation.

This half-day programme is for line managers, supervisors and HR professionals who have to conduct challenging conversations with staff, perhaps about their behaviour, results, or actions. It will also cover how to handle demanding and testing individuals. This course will equip managers with the necessary confidence, knowledge and skills to engage with people from a productive and focussed position.
