A year on from the launch of the Government’s Industrial Strategy and the Helm Review into the Cost of Energy, our new report shows that UK steelmakers face electricity prices twice those of their direct competitors in France and 50% more than German steel producers. In this report we highlight some immediate steps that the Government can implement to enable the steel sector to compete on a level playing field internationally and protect well paid, highly skilled British jobs.
