About this event
Trade remedies are used to protect domestic industries against economic and related forms of inquiry caused by unfair trade practices, changes in import behaviour and activity, and the need to protect critical industry. Trade remedies only apply to trade in goods, and enforcement measures are applied to identified goods arriving into a country.
In the UK, the Trade Remedies Authority (TRA) is the non-departmental body of Government with the responsibility to defend the UK against unfair global trade practices.
Amidst heightened global tensions surrounding trade activity, it is vital that the UK takes appropriate measures to strengthen its trade defences against the threat of unfair trade practices. It’s also important for UK firms to know and identify possible trade discrepancies, and how to work in support of the TRA’s vital remit.
This webinar will be presented by TRA trade defence policy experts and will provide an introduction to the TRA's remit and role, followed by a Q&A segment.
We encourage you to send through your queries before the webinar date. Please send through any queries you would like answered in this webinar by 5pm on Wednesday 3 September via email to [email protected].
Please note: this session is not able to cover specifics of current or previous investigations or matters which are a matter of Parliamentary or legal determination.
