Course content
This course covers:
- Role of a first aider
- Priorities of first aid
- Managing an incident
- Causes and care of the unconscious casualt
- Cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Bleeding and shock
- Choking
- Burns and scalds
- Anaphylaxis
- Manage the transportation of a casualty
- Record keeping and accident reporting
- Practical demonstration and use of an AED
Duration
The Emergency First Aid at Work Training course takes 1-day to complete.
Assessment
Assessment is via a 20-question multiple choice test at the end of the day.
Outcome / Next Steps
Following successful completion of the course, each student is awarded with a HSE recognised certificate, which is valid for 3 years.
