Mental Health First Aider Training


This Mental Health First Aider course qualifies delegates as a Mental Health First Aider with MHFA (Mental Health First Aid) England. It teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis.  

Led by expert instructors, engaging sessions cover a range of topics, from understanding mental health conditions to implementing effective support strategies.

  • Cognitive distortions and CBT
  • Personality disorders
  • Eating disorders
  • Self-harm

Session 4:

  • What is psychosis?
  • Risk factors for psychosis
  • Alcohol, drugs and psychosis
  • Schizophrenia
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Warning signs of developing psychosis
  • Crisis first aid for acute psychosis
  • Treatment and resources for psychosis
  • Recovery and building resources
  • Action planning for using MHFA

Duration

This course takes 2 days to complete.

Assessment

There is no examination for this course. Successful completion of the course is measured by continuous assessment; learners are required to actively participate and show good understanding.

Outcome / Next Steps

Following successful completion of the course, each student is awarded with certificate.
