Nathan Powell has built on his earlier Level 3 apprenticeship at Bott Ltd with determination and a collaborative approach, supporting colleagues while taking increasing responsibility for his own work.

Now undertaking his next stage as an Engineering Apprentice, he combines academic study with day-to-day responsibility, and has fast established himself as a reliable and valued member of the team.

Since moving into his new role in January 2025, Nathan has applied the learning from his Level 5 degree course directly to the practical challenges of the workplace.

Development at Pace

As his manager notes, “the pace and depth of his development have been great to see,” with the blend of real-world experience and academic learning allowing him to grow in confidence and capability at a rapid rate.

Nathan is recognised for his willingness to take responsibility, alongside a strong instinct for empathy and support for others. This has enabled him to apply his learning effectively in day-to-day work, taking ownership of tasks and supporting colleagues as needed.

Wins for the Business

According to his superiors, this has created a true win-win for the business, with Nathan already operating as a confident and capable manager delivering successful outcomes across the organisation.

Throughout his apprenticeship, Nathan has demonstrated how apprentices can contribute well beyond expectations when given the opportunity to learn and take ownership of their development. He is described as someone with the potential to become a strong role model, inspiring others to work and achieve at this level.

Nathan’s experience shows how structured learning, responsibility and ambition can combine to deliver real value for both the individual and the business.
