About this event

A live, interactive workshop for employers who want clear, practical guidance on preparing for the Employment Rights Act 2026.

This interactive virtual workshop is designed to enable you to move to from awareness to action on the Employment Rights Act 2025. It brings together employment law and HR expertise to help you understand what the changes mean for your organisation, your people, and your processes, and what you need to do next.

What we will cover

You will be guided through the key measures in the Act that are most relevant to employers, with clear explanations of what is changing, when it is expected to take effect, and where uncertainty remains.

The measures in the Act will come into force in stages, some within months, others from April 2026, October 2026, and into 2027. During the session, we will work through these timelines with you so you can see what needs attention now, what can wait, and how to plan in a realistic way rather than reacting at the last minute.

From there, the focus shifts to what this means for HR in practice. Our HR specialist will lead a deeper discussion on how the changes land across everyday activity, including recruitment, contracts, policies, performance management, employee relations, and people management capability.

We will look at where the changes are most likely to hit, where pressure points tend to build, and where risk often sits for employers. You will also come away with clear, practical steps you can start taking now, so you are not waiting for deadlines to react, but getting ahead of the changes with confidence.

We will also help you identify which HR policies, employment contracts, and employee-facing documents should be reviewed and or updated, and the scale of change involved. Some updates will be small, others more substantial. The aim is to give you a clear sense of priority, rather than a long list of unknowns.

Training and capability needs are covered as part of this, looking at where HR teams, people managers, and in some cases the wider workforce will need support, and how to approach this in a way that is proportionate and workable.

Who should attend

This workshop is designed for employers who want to understand the Employment Rights Act 2025 properly and prepare for it in a structured, practical way.

It will be particularly useful if you are:

  • responsible for HR, people management, or employment policy
  • a business owner or senior leader who needs to understand the impact of the changes
  • supporting managers who will be affected by new duties and expectations
  • looking for clarity on what needs to change, and when, rather than another legal overview

You do not need to be an employment law expert. The session is built to support informed decision-making, whatever your level of HR experience.

How the session works

This is a live, interactive workshop via Zoom. Through polls, quizzes, facilitated breakout rooms, and practical exercises, you will work through real actions employers should consider.

This includes audits, process reviews, record keeping, consultation approaches, and ways to reduce risk while supporting employee engagement.

A practical workbook is provided for use during the session, giving you space to capture decisions, actions, and priorities that are relevant to your organisation. Plus our free Employment Rights Planner if you don’t already have it.

Because of the interactive format, the session is not recorded.
