Make UK has re-signed a partnership agreement with its United States counterpart, the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) in a major boost to economic co-operation between companies in both countries.
The renewal of the partnership agreement continues the strong relationship between both organisations and comes a year on from the UK-US Economic Prosperity Deal (EPD), a landmark agreement between the UK and the US, aimed at deepening bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
The EPD has established general terms of trade, including on market access, tariff concessions, and institutional commitments, and has supported alignment in areas such as pharmaceuticals, aerospace and the automotive supply chains.
At a practical level, as well as sharing information on science, technology and innovation the two organisations will focus on promoting trade, investment and commercial exchanges among member companies. United States was the UK’s largest trading partner in the four quarters to the end of Q3 2025 accounting for 17.5% of total UK trade
The agreement was signed at a ceremony in Washington DC by Stephen Phipson, CEO of Make UK and Jay Timmons, President & CEO of NAM.
This is a welcome extension to our historic agreement which reflects the longstanding and, historic, relations between the UK and United States on trade and other areas of co-operation. We will now be looking to make the most of the partnership to boost ties between manufacturers in both countries and boost investment in vitally important technologies.
