The UK and Switzerland have concluded negotiations on an enhanced Free Trade Agreement, updating their existing trade relationship and introducing a number of improvements for businesses.

For manufacturers, the deal includes targeted tariff liberalisation, stronger digital trade rules, easier business travel, faster customs procedures and continued cooperation on standards and conformity assessment to help reduce barriers to trade. It also creates new opportunities through procurement and intellectual property provisions.

The agreement will now undergo parliamentary scrutiny before being signed and implemented, with entry into force expected in 2027.
