Measuring skills training
All forms of manufacturing and engineering require precision in either the production of components or in the maintenance, repair and installation activities that support them. Whilst there are some highly technical and complex measuring systems available in modern engineering there is still a need for employees to be able to carry out some basic measuring activities to be able to accurately produce and check suitable components.
This course, at our Technology Training Centre in Aston, Birmingham, is suitable for any person needing to measure manufactured components as part of their production process or inspection.
- Course content
During the course the delegates will cover the following subject areas in depth.
- Reading engineering drawings
- Working from datums
- Measuring with an engineer’s rule
- Measuring with a Micrometer
- Measuring with Vernier calliper
- Using engineer's combination set
- Conversion factors
- Using dial test indicators
- Measuring using Vernier height gauge
There are no pre-requisites for this course.
Whilst there is no formal assessment on this one day course, delegates will need to demonstrate that they can use the equipment and operate safely in an engineering environment. On successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.
- More details
This one-day introductory measuring skills course is aimed at new people entering the engineering industry, who require a practical approach to measurement skills and techniques or those who simply need to refresh their skill and knowledge in this area.
