Oliver Moore, a Safety, Health and Environment Advisor at BAE Systems, chose the NEBOSH Diploma to deepen his technical understanding, strengthen his professional judgement and prepare for the next stage of his health and safety career.

Background

Oliver had already completed the ISEP Foundation and ISEP Certificate (environmental) qualifications. However, he recognised that studying the NEBOSH Diploma would give him a deeper understanding of SHE management while strengthening his technical knowledge.

Why Make UK

Oliver chose Make UK to study the NEBOSH National Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals because of its strong reputation with brilliant facilities and extremely competent tutors. For him, the decision was a “no-brainer”.

The learning experience

Alongside the technical knowledge he gained, Oliver found considerable value in spending time and sharing experiences with other health and safety professionals.

"Spending six weeks with my cohort helped build relationships and gain understanding of topics through other people's experiences."

The practical expertise of Make UK's tutors also played a significant role in helping him develop confidence in applying what he learned within the workplace.

Impact

After completing the NEBOSH Diploma, Oliver found himself approaching challenges differently, contributing more confidently in discussions and trusting his own professional judgement.

Shortly after completing the course, Oliver interviewed for a role with greater responsibility, marking an important next step in his health and safety career.
