Dignity at Work course

All businesses need to have an effective policy and procedure in place to deal with issues of Discrimination and in particular harassment and bullying.

This half day course explains the basics of the Law in this area and focuses on avoiding bullying, harassment and inappropriate behaviour. It is suitable for all those with responsibility for policy/procedure development and handling complaints from employees. 

Course content

What is meant by ‘Dignity’ – a definition and what it means in practice in relation to interpersonal interactions.

The Equality Act 2010 – Protected characteristics and how discrimination occurs.

Harassment, Bullying and Banter – What is meant by these terms, examples, what is acceptable and unacceptable and why, differences between the 3 terms. Consequences.

Disability – Equality Act definition and additional legal obligations in relation to ‘Reasonable Adjustments’.

Liabilities – Vicarious and personal liability and what they mean.

There are no pre-requisites.

Assessment

No assessment but delegates receive a certificate of attendance.
