The company was named 'Manufacturer of the Year' during the celebratory Gala Dinner of the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards, which is in its 10th Year in 2018. Weir Minerals also won the national Health and Safety Award thanks to a long-established culture of ‘zero harm’ in the workplace. 

Weir Minerals Europe has invested in addressing ergonomic and musculoskeletal risks to employees at all service centres and offices in the region. 

Pamela Bingham, Weir Minerals Europe’s Managing Director, said the award illustrated the dedication to health and safety excellence, as well as the company’s culture of innovation. “This is a fantastic team effort,” she said. “We are proud to have secured this accolade and it is an acknowledgement of our exceptional people, who make these milestones possible. Good health and safety practices form a cornerstone of our workplace culture, requiring that individuals ensure the safety and wellbeing of themselves and others.”

She added: “To be named EEF’s Manufacturer of the Year is testament to the hard work our entire team puts in, and the unrivalled support that we offer our customers when it comes to increasing productivity while reducing total cost of ownership. Our reputation for excellence is earned through our commitment to investing in our people and in innovation.”

Established in Scotland more than 140 years ago, the Weir Group plc has a proud history of engineering excellence.
