The graduation ceremony, at Edgbaston Stadium, also saw the presentation of two special awards; the Final Year Award and the Mark Burgess Endeavour Award.

The Final Year Award – given to the final year apprentice who has achieved great things during their apprenticeship, was presented to Harry Halford, from Conveyor Units Ltd, who lives in Stourbridge.

The Mark Burgess Endeavour Award, named in honour of a Make UK apprentice who passed away just before his own graduation in 2018, is given to a student who has completed their apprenticeship, having overcome a personal challenge or obstacle. The 2019 winner, Declan Morris from Castings plc, who lives in Cannock, received his award from Mark’s mother, Sara Cole.
