Boughton Engineering, Britain’s longest established manufacturer of hook loaders and skip loaders – and which now also incorporates the Oldbury defence and specialist engineering business, has announced the appointment of Graeme McGregor as the company’s first Chief Operations Officer.

Graeme brings a wealth of experience at senior levels in manufacturing and operations management, having spent much of his career in the automotive and marine industries.  Graeme’s background includes studying lean manufacturing at the Gemba Institute in Japan and his qualifications include a Certificate in Management (IOM).

Skan Group Deputy Chairman and Managing Director, Richard Skan says, “Graeme’s appointment is a further important and logical step in strengthening the company’s senior level management team and is very much in line with our plans for the further development and growth of the business.”

Graeme McGregor says, “I am delighted to be joining Boughton Engineering at this most interesting time.  The Boughton and Oldbury names are amongst the most respected and valued names in the niche engineering market sectors they serve.  They are co-located, they share management, workforce, skills and facilities – as well as ethos, commitment and vision.  I look forward to building on the outstanding work which has been achieved so far and working with colleagues to take the business to the next level and towards its greater future success.”

The in-post Director of Operations and Director of Service and Quality roles remain unchanged.  The move also enables Richard Skan to devote more time to Skan Group level activities.
