National Apprenticeship Week 2021 aims to shine a light on the amazing work being done by employers and apprentices across the country.

Throughout the week we will be celebrating all things apprenticeships and showing our commitment to training the next generation of leaders in the UK manufacturing and engineering sectors. Follow all our activity on Twitter and LinkedIn

Our CEO Stephen Phipson shares his thoughts on why apprentices are vital future to the UK manufacturing sector.

Apprentices are the lifeblood of the UK manufacturing sector, and all this week we’ll be celebrating their incredible contribution to our sector.

Manufacturers know first-hand the ingenuity, a can-do attitude and resilience apprentices bring to the sector, that’s why they continue to champion and invest in the next generation of innovators, creators and makers through apprenticeships. And for apprentices in manufacturing, they are rewarded with above average pay, high-quality training and a successful career in an vibrant, innovative sector.

Make UK has first-hand knowledge of the advanced skills that Apprentices can bring to companies through its Advanced Technology Training Campus in Birmingham. Training over 200 Apprentices a year we are committing significant investment to young people as we firmly believe they are the future of advanced manufacturing as we build a more sustainable greener sector.

As we look forward, there has never been a better time to embark on a manufacturing and engineering apprenticeship. From tackling climate change to embracing greater digitalisation, manufacturing apprentices are working at the heart of some of the biggest societal challenges we’ve faced.
