18th Edition Wiring Regulations BS 7671:2018 City and Guilds level 3 update
This one day course at our Technology Training Centre in Aston, Birmingham provides delegates with an update of the regulations from 17th Edition Amendment 3 to the latest version of the IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations BS 7671:2018.
It is aimed at electricians and associated professionals, such as surveyors, consultants and trades, who are current with their 17th Edition knowledge and practice and are required to update and enhance their understanding of The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) wiring regulations, with a one day update.
This update course is only aimed at people who are experienced and current with 17th Edition Wiring Regulations and are required to update to the latest Industry standard regulations and practices. Course participants will be required to prove that they hold the latest 17th Edition Regulations qualification prior to attending this update training.
- Course content
The course covers the changes from the 17th Edition to the latest 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and how they apply to working practices. There will also be the opportunity to discuss and examine application of the regulations in practice prior to taking the City and Guild on line examination.
During the course the delegates will cover changes to the regulations to include amendments to current practices as well as any new regulatory subject areas and requirements.

• Special installations or locations as identified in BS 7671
• Appendices to BS 7671
• Online examination format, techniques and sample questions.
Candidates must be current and competent in the 17th Edition regulations to undertake this update course to 18th Edition.

To gain the City and Guilds Level 3 award in requirements for electrical installations BS7671:2018, learners must achieve four credits from the mandatory unit: understand the requirements of electrical installations BS 7671:2018, which is assessed through a two-hour multiple choice online examination. This exam is the same as the full 18th Edition exam that is covered within the full 18th Edition course.
This is an open book assessment and learners will be allowed to take in a copy of the IET Wiring Regulations BS 7671:2018. Successful candidates will receive their award from City and Guilds.
