Practical GDPR for HR professionals: what will change in your day job?

This practical seminar looks at the impact of the new data protection law on individual rights requests, including subject access requests (SARs), as well as personal data breach reporting requirements and typical situations faced by HR during the employment lifecycle, from recruitment to termination.

  • After the race to put essential GDPR documents in place, HR professionals could be forgiven for thinking their hard work was over. But, in practice, the GDPR and the UK Data Protection Act 2018 will continue to have a significant impact on HR activities.

    Against the backdrop of employees submitting increasing numbers of individual rights requests designed to exert maximum pressure, there will be an in-depth session on how to respond robustly to such requests, including how to respond to subject access requests (SARs).

    You will also receive step-by-step guidance about what to do when a GDPR breach occurs, based on our first-hand experience of advising companies who have discovered a data breach within their organisation.

    Using realistic examples, this seminar also tackles the impact of the GDPR on a wide range of core HR issues. We will look at key aspects of the employment lifecycle, addressing tricky GDPR points relating to the recruitment process, employment documentation, disciplinary and grievance procedures, managing sickness absence, termination of employment…and more!

    The seminar is suitable for HR professionals and managers who are responsible for HR issues. It assumes prior knowledge of the new GDPR regime.
